Wellness Weekend at Girlfriends Getaway in Bolton Landing

Spending this weekend attending the Girlfriends Getaway in Bolton Landing was exactly what I needed, and I didn’t even know it.

I had attended the first two of these weekends, but then always had to go to a conference for work the same weekend, and haven’t been to it since. I like to call it a wellness weekend, because the programing is geared to help woman become the best version of themselves. There are fitness classes, sessions about holistic healing, painting classes, hiking and more.

Held at The Sagamore Resort, the setting could not be more picturesque. And, since it’s usually on Mothers Day weekend, it makes for a great present, or getaway for moms and their daughters.

For me, it ended up being a time for a lot of self reflection. Having so much going on with my dog, another failed relationship and being completely stressed out, it was nice be surrounded with love, support and come back to being better centered.

The weekend started out with a medium, who ended up reading me from the audience. She was scarily accurate, and it set the tone for the whole weekend. Since I was there alone, it was also a pretty good ice breaker, since everywhere I went people were commenting, “you were that girl, right?”

Some of the local restaurants have a three-course dinner specially priced for those who attend the getaway. For $20.16 you get an amazing meal. The first night I ate with a group of inspiring women at the Sagamore and then the next night at Fredericks. Absolutely delicious! And, great service.

On Saturday evening, many of the shops in town have wine, cocktails and appetizers for the women while they shop. So, of course, I enjoyed a very well made whiskey sour at Serendipity, a glass of white wine at Trees and a sweet cupcake at Adirondack Trails from a new bakery that will be opening soon next door.

I even picked up this adorable sign for my desk at the Adirondacks Trails store.

It really is a great weekend event that is not only relaxing but also affordable and fun whether you go alone with a group of your closes friends. If you haven’t been, add it to your calendar for next year. You will leave inspired with a ton of memories.
