Yup, you read that correctly– 9 1/2 hours of baking. I started at 3 p.m. And I just ended at 12:30 a.m.
And, I am exhausted! Well, kind of. It’s something I really enjoy doing, especially because this round of cookies will be taking flight soon. I’ve always made cookies for friends and family who were local, but last year I felt like there were so many people I wanted to send a special holiday greeting to, that I baked and baked and baked, and then packaged them up and shipped them to friends, family and professional contacts all over the country.
This has been a big year, so I’m shipping to larger number of people, and even that I had to cut down because there just wasn’t enough time to make that many cookies. (I totally should have started this earlier in the season!)
Today, I made six different types of cookies, not including the “everything” cookies I made Friday night. They were: Double chocolate mint, oatmeal butterscotch, sugar cookies, chocolate chip, chocolate peanut butter chip and my great-grandmother’s Snow Ball.
The Double Chocolate Mint was an adapted recipe, so I’ll share that one soon. In the meantime, here are aome photos!
