Hadley Maple in April Festival

You could not have asked for a more perfect day for this year’s Hadley Maple Festival. It was sunny and warm with a light breeze — you could just feel spring in the air.

The best way to start off the day-long event is with breakfast at Wilder’s Sugar Shack. It was well worth the $6 charity donation to benefit the Hadley Business Association’s Scholarship Fund: Crispy French toast, Oscar’s Smokehouse maple sausage and fresh maple syrup  plus your choices of hot coffee, tea and juice.

Then we took a quick stroll over to the actual sugar shack where they make the maple syrup.

After, we took a stroll down the street checking out all the vendors, including one who had doggie treats, which Toby was more than happy to taste.

Plus, I finally got to meet Gretchen (and her husband) from Adirondack Aromatherapy! I’ve been talking with Gretchen over twitter for what seems like forever, but we had never met until yesterday. She is so sweet, and her soaps, lip balm and other handmade products are just beautiful.

There’s also craft vendors, horse drawn carriage rides, a kid’s play area, train exhibit, car show, live music and more at the event! You can see more photos from the day in our Facebook album.
