Making a Baked Potato in the Microwave

I don’t know about you, but I never seem to have time to make a baked potato the traditional way, especially when I’m using it in a recipe. Microwaving them is so much easier!

Here’s how to do it:

Using a vegetable brush, scrub and clean the potatoes. Wash them under cold water, but don’t dry them. Pierce them with a fork several times.

Wrap each of them in a paper towel and place in the microwave. If you’re making multiple potatoes, try to space them evenly apart.

Microwave on high following this chart:

1 potato ~ 6-7 minutes
2 potatoes ~ 9-12 minutes
3 potatoes ~13-16 minutes
4 potatoes ~ 18-22 minutes

Large potatoes may take a little longer.

Remove the potato from the microwave. Leaving it in the paper towel, wrap in aluminum foil.

 Let sit 5-10 minutes.

The finished potato.

Unwrap and enjoy!
