Last-Minute Holiday Colored Sugar Cookies

The holidays are here and you need a quick cookie to make for a last-minute party or unexpected house-guests. Don’t sweat it! These super fast cookies are semi-homemade and will look delightful on the table with some hot chocolate, Irish coffee or other warm beverage of your choice.

What I used: 

1 package Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix
red and green colored sugar
{or blue sugar for Hanukkah}

Prepare the sugar cookie mix as directed on the package. Pour the green sugar in one bowl and the red sugar in the another.

Using your hands, break off small chunks of the dough and roll between the palms if your hands into small balls. Then, roll the balls in either the red or green sugar.

Place on the cookie sheet leaving about two inches between the balls. Once the cookie sheet is filled, gently press the bottom of a glass on top of the balls to form flat cookies.

The thinner you make the cookie the less time you will need to cook them and the crispier they will be. Bake for about 7 minutes, being careful they don’t burn. Remove from oven and let cool on a cookie rack.
