Garden Fresh Broccoli Pizza {gluten free}

I love pizza, but ordering it out all the time will quickly get costly — for both your wallet and your waist. But, by making it at home, you can control what you put on it, as well as what kind of cheese and crust you use.

For gluten free homemade pizzas, I like to use Udis crusts. They taste like a “regular” thin crust and they cook just as well as any “regular” pre-made pizza crust.  If you don’t need to eat gluten free, just use your favorite pizza shell.

Garden Fresh Broccoli Pizza
by Michelle Maskaly, The Adirondack Chick

1 Udis gluten free pizza crust (or any other gluten free or regular frozen pizza crust)
3 cloves garlic
1 small onion
1 cup steamed broccoli florets
1 large Roma tomato
3/4 cup hot tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella
Crushed red pepper flakes {optional}
salt {optional}

Preheat the oven to the temperature suggest on the pizza crust.

Dice the garlic. Then cut the onion in half and slice each half, separating them into individual pieces. Do the same with the tomato removing any seeds or liquid inside.

Spread hot sauce on the pizza crust. Evenly cover the pizza with garlic and onion slices.

Top with a majority of the mozzarella, leaving about 1/4 of a cup on the side for later use. Arrange the tomatoes and then the steamed broccoli on the pizza.

Top the broccoli and tomatoes with the remaining mozzarella. For a spicy treat, sprinkle crushed red pepper and salt over the top.

Bake for about 10 minutes or until the crust is golden and the mozzarella is melted.

  1. This looks amazingly good! I'll probably have to make two… One with the hot sauce and red pepper for hubs and one without the heat for wimpy old me!
