Lake George Restaurant Week June 2011

Lake George Restaurant Week is happening this week — June 20-24 — and gives people the opportunity to enjoy a three course meal at some of the region’s best restaurants for only $20.11. Yep, $20.11.

It’s a really great deal, considering the regular value of each meal is at least $30. Typically, I try to use the week to try new places, but being a vegetarian, it can be difficult, because sometimes the “vegetarian” option is some type of fish that I don’t eat. But, I do eat scallops and my favorite seafood restaurant, The Lobster Pot, participates and has their awesome broiled sea scallops on the restaurant menu. If you like scallops, you won’t be disappointed. I get sucked in every time, and end up picking them over others.

If you’re visiting Lake George for the first time during restaurant week, I would suggest checking out, The Lobster Pot, Moose Tooth Grill and the Adirondack Pub and Brewery. These are the places I usually tell people to go regularly when they ask. Order the scallops at the Lobster Pot, the roasted red pepper chicken alfredo at the Brewery and one of the burgers at the Moose.

I’m hoping to find some time to check out Porrecas during Restaurant Week. How amazing does this sound — mozzarella and tomato salad with basil and extra virgin olive oil; penne a la vodka, a tomato cream sauce and pecorino cheese tossed with tube pasta; or eggplant rotolini, thinly sliced eggplant filled with four Italian chesses. Yum!

Each restaurant’s menu is on the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce’s website, so you can see what they are offering before you go.

If you go, I’d love to hear where and what you ate. Enjoy!
