Happy Earth Day! Now, get off the computer, and go plant something!
That was my plan for today, but then I woke up to this:
It got pretty cold here last night, and thought my eight tomato plants could handle it, but apparently I guessed wrong. I think I’m going to still try planting them, but there is going to be a lot of fingers being crossed that they survive.
My three strawberry plants that were on clearance, however (regularly $8, on clearance for $2) seems to enjoy the cooler weather and have some greenish leaves appearing!
While it’s important to do something today to mark Earth Day, also make a commitment to do something everyday to help the environment. Little things like turning off the water while you’re brushing your teeth can really help the environment.
My favorite tip is to unplug electronics when you’re not using them! I always try to unplug most electronics when I’m done with them. In the morning, I even unplug my alarm clock once I’m up. Can openers, toasters, blenders, anything that’s plugged in — just unplug it when you’re not not using them.
Happy Earth Day!
