A story in CNN’s travel section says hotels serving free, hot breakfasts are the latest trend in both business and leisure travel.
Travelers say a free breakfast where they will find eggs, sausage and pancakes along with the standard continental breakfast of danishes, fruit and coffee very appealing because they don’t have to go searching for another place to eat and start their day — it’s all there for them.
It makes complete sense, and thinking about my own travels it does make it much easier. There were at least two times where hotel breakfasts made an impression on me — at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Clearwater, Fla. during a Spring Training trip and in Lake Placid, N.Y. at the Comfort Inn. They had a variety of options, including make-your-own waffles, fruits, microwavable breakfast sandwiches and oatmeal.
Then I think about my recent trip to Las Vegas where my breakfast wasn’t included and I had to search for somewhere to eat, wait on line and pay extra. It really did waste time.
Where was the best hotel-rate included breakfast you’ve had?
