The beginning of June can only mean one thing in the Adirondacks — Americade is in Lake George. The week long motorcycle event features more cycle-related information, demos, scavenger hunts, parades and other festivities than one could ever imagine.
Friday night the town was curb-to-curb covered with motorcycles — a usual 3 minute ride, took 25 minutes because of all the traffic. Walking down Canada Street (the main drag for those of you not familiar with the area) was like trying to get into the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.
My dog Toby and I took a quick walk through town Friday night with the intention of photographing all the bikes, but our plan got a little derailed.
Bottom line, if you like motorcycles, don’t miss this event. It is one-of-a-kind and definitely an experience.
Enjoy the handful of photos I was able to snap while trying to keep Toby from drinking leftover beer, wanting to play with other dogs and stopping to chat with everyone who thought it was cute he was wearing a Harley-Davidson “vest.”
Next year, we will start shooting a whole lot earlier than we did tonight!
