There are tons of fun things to do in, and near, the Adirondacks this weekend – and I am so extremely bummed I can’t make it!
With the New York metro area expected to get slammed with a massive snow storm and having to work on Sunday, I can’t take a chance of getting snowed in.
But, if you are in the Lake George or Saratoga Springs area, you must, must, must check out several events this weekend.
It’s the first weekend of the Lake George Winter Carnival and features tethered hot air balloon rides, a polar plunge, dog sled rides, snowmobile rides and other fun activities.
The winter carnival takes place every weekend in February.
Saturday in Saratoga Spring is the annual Chowderfest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participating establishments compete to win the public’s vote for the best soup in town. It is part of the town’s Winterfest that runs Friday through Sunday.
I think the worst part for me is that the Adirondack Pub and Brewery is supposed to reopen for the carnival, and I will not be there to try their new winter ale! After being closed since mid-November I need my ADK Pub fix, and a bite of their amazing veggie sandwich!
