As much as I joke with my friends how I hate the holidays, I really do like the festivities that surround them. What I do hate is the pressure that goes along with them – What are you going to get someone for Christmas? Where will you spend New Years? My friend doesn’t celebrate Christmas, but I still want to get them something to acknowledge the season, what gift is appropriate? Should I request the holiday off? What’s the perfect gift to bring to a holiday party?
But, in the end, all that matters is having fun with your friends and family, being healthy and having a good time. That is what you will remember 20 years from now when you look back and reminisce about the holidays – not that $10 bottle of wine you almost forgot to bring to your co-workers party (Note to self: Remember that when you start stressing out about NYE plans!)
I’m very fortunate to work in Manhattan, which sometimes seems like the holiday capital of the world with Macy’s, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and Times Square. So over the next few weeks I’ll be posting some holiday related events and photos from my various travels.
