This weekend is the Adirondack Balloon Festival at the Floyd Bennett Memoiral Airport in Queesnbury. It’s just a short drive from Lake George, Saratoga Springs and Bolton Landing.
It’s a pretty cool event, because you can get so close to the balloons. We sat down to watch some of the balloons, and we turned around and there was one blowing up right next to us! There are tons of people, which means tons of traffic, but it’s well worth it.
On Saturday they start at 6:30 a.m. with balloon flights, followed by an all day festival, and then another flight at 5 p.m.
And, separate from the Balloon Festival, Lake George Village is featuring a craft fair on Saturday and a sunset balloon launch near Beach Road. From what I understand fireworks will follow.
Check out some of the of the cool balloons from Friday’s Adirondack Balloon Festival.
